TUESDAY AUGUST 27 AT THE TWIN DRAGON RESTAURANT
Cyn Reneau, Idaho METH Project

Boise Optimist Club President Scott Muir gaveled the meeting to order at 12:09 PM. Cyndi Elliot led us in the Pledge of Allegiance , and Steve Oliver said the Invocation.

Sunshine $$: Larry Highley told another great joke. Sue Clarkson talked of how much better her hubby Stub's kidney condition is. Great news! Dixie, because her granddaughter is going back to school. Cyndi Elliot about her son playing football.

It was suggested that MAYBE those in the club could work an hour or two at the concession stand for one Saturday. AND ... we need golf cart shuttle drivers during the OYF games. You can just work a few hours and then go home. You'd be surprised at how much people appreciate these shuttles. AND ... we could use some early morning "doughnut ladies" at the concession stands! Whew!!

Our speaker this day was Cyn Reneau, Development and Education Director, Idaho Meth Project.
"Meth is man made. It is smoked, snorted, eaten, taken by needle and taken in pill form." All the ingredients can be purchased anywhere. It is cheap to buy. Highway 84 is called "The Drug Highway" by the federal authorities. Small towns seem to get hard, boredom is one big reason. That's why our Optimist Youth Football program is so important.

Night Meeting, Tuesday August 6

TUESDAY AUGUST 6, AT THE BLACK BEAR DINER

We had a light turnout this evening, I guess many are on vacation this time of year. We were supposed to

have a few young people doing Irish dancing, but they too were hit by many going on vacation. The Black Bear did a great job setting up the room for the dancers, even if they couldn't come. I think it best we try for the dancers again the next time we go to the Black Bear Diner in September.

Cyndi Elliot came up with a new Boise Optimist roster. Great work Cyndi!

Larry Highley showed us our new logo. It was suggested that maybe we can put this logo on the back of the
new Optimist shirts.

Larry Highley, Steve & Sue Oliver and Dyan & Doug Graybeal will be going to the Optimist District Convention in McCall this Sunday to Tuesday.

The Jamboree will be Saturday August 17th.

Scott Muir won the drawing for $10. No joker this time.
