Boise Optimist News - December 9

Hi all,

Please come and bring a friend to our Tuesday (12/10) noon meeting at the Twin Dragon. Our guest speaker will be our very own Lori Benfiet. I bought the most amazing chocolate cake at the auction, which I will proudly serve at the meeting.

Speaking about the auction: it was an amazing fund raising event. People from all Optimist programs were there. Not sure how much was raised, but I'm confident it will beat our club $2500 record. Thanks to all who pitched in and helped during the auction. A special thanks must go out to our auction committee: Dyan G. (food/venue), Paul M. (donations!/flyer), Sue O. (decorations/invitations), Steve O. (donations/invitations), , Cyndi E. (advertising/auction expertise), Rick P. (technical/chair support), and Lisa P. (chair).

MSTI Family Christmas Party: Here's your chance to interact with the kids and families we serve. We need volunteers to help set-up and/or staff the party. Contact Dyan Graybeal (dyan@itbpromos.com) asap and let her know you're coming. Thanks.

Calendar Updates:

12/10 BYSC Board Meeting - Cancelled.
12/10 BNOC Board Meeting - Cancelled.
12/16 Special session of BNOC Board after the evening club meeting at Casa Mexico.
Tentative agenda: allocation of auction proceeds, up-to-date concessions report, Bylaws revision timeline

Hope to see many of you on Tuesday,

Lisa Peterson

Dear Optimists and OYF committee members.
Paul Messersmith

We are rapidly approaching April 15th, the date set for our new member recruiting meeting at the OYSC office, 6:30 pm. We'll be providing sandwiches ands drinks and will be presenting information on the projects and programs we are involved in during the year, looking for more people to help us serve the young people in our community.

More details with printed materials, schedules, new member contest (steak for the winning team...beans for the losers). It will be the Packers vs the Vikings. Stand by for specifics.

The main thing I need from you by the end of March or sooner is your new member prospect list with contact information, address, phone, email) so we can send an invitation.
Denise Sandquist

Please email me, soso6468@gmail.com (Steve Oliver) or Cyndi Elliot, celliot@groupone.com with your prospects.

For OYF committee folks who are not members of the Boise Noon Optimist club, I'd ask you to consider joining and, also providing prospects that you feel have great hearts of service to the young kids in our communities. It is imperative that we grow membership for, not only the BNOC but also the OYF.

So, your mission, if you accept, is to sit down right now and prepare a list of prospects, send them to me or Cyndi. Our goal is to add 40 new people to help us serve and make a difference in young lives. You know how much joy you get from being a part of this group...so, lets go out and share with others.

Thanks for listening.

Steve Oliver, coach of Green Bay Packers membership team.
