Notes from two meeting: Sept 10 and 17, 2013

Larry Lim and Katie Lim
Bryan Reeves

MEETING & DINNER AT THE CASA MEXICO - TUESDAY SEPT., 17

Boise Optimist President Scott Muir called the meeting to order at 6:49 PM. Kathy Arbaugh led us in the Pledge of Allegiance and Steve Oliver said the Invocation. We had a nice turnout of good people. Then, all of a sudden, in walked two strangers ... Katie and Larry Lim. All attention went toward them.

Bio of Larry Kim: Raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. Semi-retired. Boise resident. President Honolulu Chamber of Commerce. President of HOBY in Hawaii. In the military 27 years. Business owner. University instructor. Bio of Katie Lim: Homemaker. 6 children all grown. 14 grandchildren.

Eddie Godsey's ticket was pulled And he won $10!

MEETING AT TWIN DRAGON RESTAURANT TUESDAY SEPT 10.

Larry Highley called the meeting to order 12:06 PM. Walt Callahan led us the Pledge of Allegiance, and Stub Clarkson said the Invocation.

Sue Clarkson brought cookies. Today was Stub's 79th birthday. And Rick Peterson will soon be 65, and Doug Graybeal will be 63. (Aaaah to be 63 again!) Steve Oliver gave an Idaho University report ... "We scored 32 points!"

We still need concession people. And maybe the Boise Loins can help us, they need "something to do."

Larry Highley suggested a new color for our shirts. "No more blue!" Wadda ya think?

Rake up Boise is in November, date to be decided.

Our Boise Club's annual Installation Dinner will be on October 8th at the Policeman's Clubhouse. $20 per person. Goodwood will once again provide the food.

Our guest speaker this day was Bryan Reeves a neighbor of Highley's. Bryan makes beautiful bamboo fishing poles. These truly are a work of art. The process to make these poles is long and arduous.
