Today's Program: Girls' and Boys' Club: Walt introduced Mat Sorenson and Jason Sears of the Boys and Girls Club of Ada County. They serve a variety of Children (130 to 160) per day in Winter (approx. 250 - 300 in Garden City alone. Their after school programs run Monday thru Friday, 3:00 - 8:00 p.m, and during Christmas Break from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. during the day. For 10:00 per year they work with best trained staff in the Valley. Many children are from disadvantaged families; 60% get free or reduced fee lunches. Members pay $10.00/year with many challenges. They are inspired to empower young people.

Kids are given choices each day for success! Being hungry and cold still matters today! They have an after snack assembly and review the rules: Respect, Responsibility and Integrity!! They also have volunteers who help with homework. They have organized and planned activities.

Matt shared a personal story about a young man he personally worked with. It was very informative and the young man learned from sharing. This is a great service and they can always use contributions.

The Pot today is $418.00 (WOW), and Gary Arbaugh had to leave early. His ticket was drawn, and Matt Sorenson got up and pulled a card for him. AND ... he pulled an ACE, so Gary won: $209.00. Congratulations Gary, and MERRY CHRISTMAS!
