BNOC News, Feb 26

Boise Noon Optimist Club President Scott Muir gaveled to meeting to order at 12:05 P.M. Cloris Brown led us in the Pledge of Allegiance, and Stub Clarkson said the Invocation.

SUNSHINE DOLLARS: Steve Oliver because he is officially retired at 2:30 P.M. February 28th. AND ... he has volunteered to be on the Optimist Youth team that paints the stripes on the fields during the football season.Sue Oliver because her grandson is turning 11. Dyan Graybeal because even though her parents are in ill health, they are doing fine. Cyndi Elliot because the lacrosse season is starting and her son is very involved. Sue Clarkson because her grandson Will's wife is pregnant and she just had her appendix out, she's doing fine. AND ... the word is they are going to name the baby WALTER!

Promise Yourself – To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.

Larry Highley then got up and started to really let us have it about the Boise Noon Optimist Club membership. He pulled no punches. "We need to advertise, pamper new people when they visit, maybe give them something to remember our club. We also need to set a fund aside for the very purpose on recruiting new members." This writer still likes the idea of Boise Optimist Club license plate frames and bumper stickers. It's a rather constant advertisement and they are cheap.

Cyndi Elliot is working on a brochure to be handed out, and she is starting an Ad Hoc committee to work on this problem. Many signed up for this committee right away.
