Boise Nooner - evening edition March 19

We met at the Casa Mexico Tuesday night. It was a nice turnout. Boise State Head Tennis coach Greg Patton and his lovely wife Christa arrived right on time. Steve McNitt led us in the Pledge of Allegiance, and Stub once again said the Invocation.

Right at the start, Larry Highley got up and showed us copies of our Optimist Creed he had made with our club's name at the bottom to be passed out. He also had business type cards available to anyone who might be interested. Good job Larry.

We all had our meal and then Coach Patton got up to speak. We all know this man and just how good and enthusiastic he can be. By the time he was finished at near 8:30 I was very ready to try out for the Boise State tennis team!! How hard can it be?

Coach Patton talked about how proud he was of his team going to Montgomery Alabama and beating Nebraska, Texas Tech, and then Notre Dame. All ranked teams. Now BSU is a ranked team, #46 in the whole nation.

Coach then talked about the upcoming DAVIS CUP Quarterfinal matches coming to Taco Bell April 5 - 7 between The United States and Serbia. Come and see the very best tennis played in the world, Novak Djokovic (the D is silent) from Belgrade, Serbia. Coach Patton has been working to get this Davis Cup match to Boise for quite a while now. Well done Coach Patton.
